He holds a Bachelor of Leisure Management from Griffith University and has managed representative Rugby League teams at junior and senior level.
 

Phil has lived in the Mansfield electorate his whole life and is involved in numerous community organisations. He is Chairman of the Mt Gravatt PCYC, also Vice President of Southside Community Care and is a member of various sporting and community groups in his electorate.

In 2006 Phil became parlimentary secretary to the Minister for Transport, particulary assisting the Minister in public transport.

 

In 2007 Phill took uptheposition of parlimentary secretary to premier Anna Bligh.

 
As the State Member for Mansfield, Phil has been instrumental in:

  • Establishing the Mt Gravatt PCYC on Klumpp Road .
  • Lobbying for the relocation of the Mt Gravatt Fire Station to Wishart .
  • Saving the Wishart Bushlands forever.  
  • Removing the dangerous goods route from Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Rd.
  • Recently initiated a ban on trucks using the Brisbane Urban Corridor (BUC) as a short cut.
  • Securing Police Beats at Garden City Shopping Centre and on Underwood Road at Rochedale South.
  • Securing funding for local school and community groups
  • Introducing the south east busway.
  •  

Phil Reeves was elected to the seat of Mansfield in June 1998.

Prior to his election, he ran a small business in sports management and marketing. Phil is married to Megan and has three daughters, four-year-old Brianna, two-year-old Ashleigh and one-year-old Jemma.
